ORLANDO VOORN (DJ & Producer)
photo of Orlando Voorn The first time Orlando Voorn's natural talent shone through was back in 1983, when he rocked the turntables and the crowd attending at the Dutch "DMC mixing championships". He toured Europe, then packed away his records and picked up on production. Now, more than fifteen years later, he can reflect on a solid back catalogue and reputation he's built for himself, both as a producer and a DJ.
Mixing a unique blend of phunked up beats, freeform jazz rhythms and his own interpretation on the ever changing frontiers of techno, Orlando doesn't limit himself to one style. He strives to imprint his own identity and influences to take the music one step further.

Orlando's multiple aliases include Basic Bastard, Frequency, Baruka, Nighttripper and Fix. With classic cuts on solid labels like KMS, Fragile and Metroplex, and collaborations with legendary names like Derrick May, Juan Atkins (Infinity), Blake Baxter (The Ghetto Brothers) and Kevin Saunderson, his extensive discography is living testament to many of the highlightsof the inventive and individualistic sounds he has been busy creating. Check out "Nightvision", an eclectic selection of his greatest works on various influential labels.

This year will see Orlando Voorn pushing his career even further, picking up his Djing schedule again, and releasing a Fix album on his label Slam Dunk and collaborating on a track with Guru.
