Abraxas visited Amsterdam from his Native New York with Jereon Flamman
in the days before house music hit and decided to stay and earn a living
from his record box...the dynamic duo ran a variety of parties and nights,
including Subtopia - an after hours party on a boat which became a base
of sorts, and also becoming widely known. The pair ran Lower East Side
Records (record label) and recorded as Fierce Ruling Diva...both of which
provided some Pure classics notably, "Get Down Tonight", "Believe
in Me" & "Designer Loops" (recorded with Orlando Voorn).
The above photo was taken in Subtopia Records (a record shop) which was(is?)
in Liquid Sky in NYC where Abraxas was manager and buyer. For more Abraxas
info go to the Lower East Side Records Archive...(on our links page).
