Back in the prejurassic days, Edinburgh had a very slack policy towards opening hours, and we could stay open for dancing and drinking until 5am. Unfortunately, after the glasgow district council decided that 2am was quite late enough, their pals in Edinburgh felt that they would similarly spoil the party with a two hour reduction of party hours.
