WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?
DJ Love Born in Dumfries. But these little town blues meant
I had to make a brand new start in old New York where I grew up riding the subway,
running with people up in Harlem, down on Broadway. Now living for the nightlife
in Scotland's capital city.
How would you describe your looks?
"The kind of body that would shame Adonis and a face that would make any man proud."
What do you remember about your first love?
"Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl, she wore diamonds in her hair and a dress
cut down to there."
How or where did you meet your current/last partner?
"One night in a disco on the outskirts of 'Frisco. She was cruising with her favourite
gang."
What was the last album you bought and why did you choose it?
"I don't remember. Rock 'n'Roll, hip-hop and soul, I love music, any kind of music."
What's the most romantic thing you've ever done?
"I don't reveal trade secrets but I could take the stars out of the sky for you,
stop the rain from falling if you ask me to."
When did you last cry and why?
"It's not unusual to see me cry. It happens all the time. Love will never do what
you want it to. Why can't this crazy world be mine?"
Descibe your most embarrassing moment.
"Suffice to say it was down at the YMCA."
What was your first job?
"Working at the carwash."
What bugs you about your boss?
"He's a complicated man, no-one understands him but his woman."
What do you hate about yourself?
"I'm a stubborn kind of fellow."
When did you last go to church?
"Late December 1963."
What are the wackiest items in your handbag or pocket right now?
"Got lots of money, got two diamond rings, got good connections, I can get you
anything. You want it you got it."
What do you spend your money on?
"The finest clothes, the best designers, heaven knows."
Do you watch soaps?
"Too busy thinking 'bout my baby. I ain't got time for nothing else."
What is your biggest regret?
"Me and Mrs Jones, we had a thing goin' on. We both knew it was wrong but it was
much too strong to let it go."
What would you do if you won the Lottery?
"I wouldn't have to work at all, I'd fool around and have a ball."
What ambition have you never succeeded in fulfilling?
"I was a star in the ghetto, I never made Broadway but that's OK."
What's your idea of Heaven?
"The back seat of my Cadillac, let me take you there."
What's your idea of Hell?
"An inferno without a disco."
