Club of the Month Trophy

Disco Inferno "Club of The Month"
....

It’s 1979, the '80’s are still a starry-eyed drainpipe wearing dream and love is still free. Except it’s actually 20 years later and everyone in Disco Inferno is in a state of serious quantum leap. With three glitterball-tastic dancefloors to choose from, there’s more than enough room to swing yer pants, yer partner, or that white blazer jacker you’ve been saving for a night like this. Over 800 dedicated dancing queens and their starship troupers funk it down at Disco Inferno every other Sarurday. Amid the more mainstream crowd, you can see displays of 70’s fashion that range from the extremely brave to the downright ludicrous. Under{ab}normal circumstances, you might think that people in these kind of outfits should only be let out once a year, but it all makes for a great night of tongue-in-cheekiness. Despite the large number of cheesy stick on 'taches, dodgy afros and medallions, none of the young things can measure up to the veteran of all things 70’s, the grandaddy of disco himself, MC Otis. Like some long forgotten half-brother to the great Bazza White {only even smoother}, the man mountain that is Otis glides through the crowd as if on castors. Serenading his “Baby dolls” with gravelly tones and encouraging his entourage to “Shake that money maker”, he offers the crowd his pearls of wisdom for free: “This time boy, kiss that girl like you really mean it” With advice like that, every tune a raging classic and the kind of crowd that think that Saturday Night Fever is the epitome of cool you could become convinced that 1979 was the best year. Inferno could just be the best place to get stuck in time...
